An Act Enhancing Access to Abortion Care

H.1599 filed by Representative Sally P. Kerans, and S.1114 filed by Senator Rebecca Rausch are two bills that have broad language that would allow minors to consent to preventative medical care, including vaccination, without parental knowledge or consent.  Because there are no specifications on the types of preventative care that would be allowed, nor any restrictions regarding the age, intellectual capacity, or medical history of the child, Section 1 would allow minors to consent to myriad of medical procedures, including vaccination, without parental consent or knowledge.
